SMS INNSE S.p.A. (www.innse.com) is one of the Italian subsidiaries of the SMS group, the world market leader for metallurgical plant and rolling mill equipment.

The SMS group is internationally active in plant construction and mechanical engineering for the steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metals industry with more than 13.000 employees worldwide out of which more than 700 employees in Italy.

Company history

Founded in 1933, the private company Innocenti started as general company for the metallurgical industry. In 1972 Innocenti family decided to sell the complete company and the mechanical division entered into the IRI Group (properly of Italian Government) and changed its name into INNSE. In 1999 INNSE became part of the newly formed market leader SMS Demag.

Since more than 80 years SMS INNSE is a leading company in metallurgical plant engineering and construction in the fields of steel making process equipment, continuous castings, hot rolling mills, cold rolling mills, strip processing lines, tube rolling mills.

The different technological competence is expressed in the development of innovative processes for hot rolling mills, tube mills and cold mills, always aimed to satisfy the customer’s requirements. The applications extend from carbon and special steels, non-ferrous metals as aluminum and copper.
